The Bluffton High School boys’ cross country team took sixth place out of 12 teams at the 2019 Bellmont Invitational. The Tigers finished with a team time of 1:40:19.0 for a score of 154.
The top runner for BHS was senior Aaron Carnall. Carnall ran 19:03.7 and claimed 16th-place. Sophomore Markis Crosbie joined Carnall at the awards ceremony by taking 27th. Crosbie posted his first sub-20 minute 5K of his career with a time of 19:57.5.
Junior Grant Bultemeier ran his fastest race of the season with a time of 20:17.7 to finish in 33rd place. Freshmen Sam Baumgartner and Lucas Grady followed with personal best times of 20:28.9 and 20:31.0 respectively. Baumgartner placed 38th and Grady finished 40th to round out the scoring for the Tigers.
Bryson Mayer and Brody Yergler concluded the varsity lineup.
Mayer along with freshmen Austin Rupel and Austin Davis ran their personal best times on Tuesday. Mayer finished at 21:12.0, Rupel ran 28:43.7, and Davis posted a time of 28:49.4.

The next race for the Tigers is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3 at the Bi-County Conditioner. The event is slated for a 5:00 PM start time at South Adams High School in Berne.
