The Bluffton boys’ varsity cross country team recorded its best time of the season on Saturday at the New Haven XC Classic with a team time of 1:36:16. The time placed the Tigers in 12th out of 23 teams.
Senior Aaron Carnall ran his best race of the season with a time of 18:00.2. He earned himself another medal with a 17th place finish to lead the Tigers. Meanwhile, sophomore Markis Crosbie reached another milestone as he notched his first time under 19 minutes with a time of 18:45.2. Junior Grant Bultemeier was not far behind, narrowly trumping his own personal record of 19:23.9. Freshmen Sam Baumgartner (19:54) and Lucas Grady (20:12) rounded out the scoring for Bluffton.
Sophomore Andrew Brown ran a breakout race as he cut 2:04 from his personal record to notch a time of 20:40.5. Also recording personal bests were junior Brody Yergler (21:36.2) and freshman Austin Rupel (25:46.4).
The next competition for the Tigers is the Allen County Athletic Conference Invitational at South Adams. The race is scheduled to begin at 10:50 AM on Saturday, October 5.
