The Bluffton Tigers Varsity Baseball team took the lead late in the game in a 7-6 victory over New Haven on Friday. The game was tied at six with Bluffton batting in the top of the seventh when the Tigers took the lead for good.
The Tigers collected six hits in the high-scoring game.
Bluffton notched three runs in the fourth inning. The big bats in the inning were led by a single by Brandon Lockwood, a sac fly by Mason Heller, and an error on a ball put in play by Max Corle. Bluffton was able to even things up at six in the top of the sixth inning. Eli Inskeep’s sac fly scored one run for Tigers.
Gavin King earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Bluffton Tigers Varsity. He lasted five innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out four.
Lockwood led Bluffton Tigers Varsity with two hits in four at bats.
