Four RBI Day For Austin Lewis Brings In Win For Bluffton Tigers Varsity Over Blackford
Austin Lewis was bad news for opposing pitchers on Friday, driving in four on three hits to lead Bluffton Tigers Varsity past Blackford 8-5 on Friday. Lewis drove in runs on a home run in the first and a single in the fifth.
An early lead helped propel Bluffton Tigers Varsity to victory. Bluffton Tigers Varsity scored on a single by Kaleb Riley in the first inning, a single by Cameron Nestleroad in the first inning, a home run by Lewis in the first inning, and a home run by Kaden Gerber in the second inning.
Riley led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Bluffton Tigers Varsity. The righthander surrendered three runs on three hits over four innings, striking out five.
Eli Martin started the game for Blackford. Martin surrendered six runs on ten hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one. Gabe Foster and Ethan Morris entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.
Bluffton Tigers Varsity smacked two home runs on the day. Gerber went yard in the second inning. Lewis had a dinger in the first inning.
Bluffton Tigers Varsity tallied 12 hits on the day. Lewis, Riley, Cooper King, and Nestleroad each collected multiple hits for Bluffton Tigers Varsity. Lewis went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Bluffton Tigers Varsity in hits.
Blackford tallied five hits in the game. Cam Elam and Morris all had multiple hits for Blackford. Elam led Blackford with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases. Blackford was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Elam had the most chances in the field with seven.
