The Bluffton Boys' 8th Grade Basketball team claimed a hard-fought 45-41 victory over Summit Middle School on Wednesday night, improving their season record to 5-1. The exciting matchup at Bluffton Middle School showcased two talented teams and wasn't decided until the final moments. The Tigers started strong, building a commanding 22-11 halftime lead. However, Summit stormed back in the third quarter, catching fire from beyond the arc and tying the game at 28-28 heading into the final quarter. Despite facing a full-court press for most of the half, Bluffton regrouped and put up 17 points in the fourth quarter to secure the four-point win. Chase Kistler led the charge for the Tigers, posting a team-high 16 points and 9 rebounds. Maddox White and Wyatt Holmes each contributed 11 points, with White also recording 7 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Vince Lambert added 4 points, while Ethan Ribich chipped in 3 points along with a team-best 3 assists. Dominating the boards proved crucial for Bluffton, as they outrebounded Summit 25-10, helping to counteract Summit's 8 three-pointers. The 7th Grade Boys' Basketball Team secured a strong 25-17 win over Summit Middle School on Wednesday night, improving their season record to 5-1. The Tigers dominated defensively, holding Summit to just 17 points on 22% shooting in a game they controlled from start to finish. Bluffton showcased a balanced scoring effort, with Davin Drayer leading the way. Drayer posted a team-high 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Kreigh Ault and Riker Beste contributed 6 points each, while Easton Schipper and Simeon Terry added 2 points apiece. Ault also directed the offense with a team-high 4 assists. The Tigers were particularly dominant in the paint, where they outscored Summit 16-2 and doubled their opponents' rebounding total, 24-12.
