Bluffton Varsity Tigers lost to Manchester Varsity Squires 5-2 on Tuesday. Manchester Varsity Squires got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Allie Egolf singled, scoring one run, Alexis Jarrett singled, scoring two runs, and one run scored on a dropped third strike. Bluffton Varsity Tigers scored two runs in the top of the sixth on a home run to left field by Kamryn Ault on the seventh pitch of the at-bat. Elin Betten earned the win for Manchester Varsity Squires. The pitcher gave up four hits and two runs over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking none. Ault pitched five innings in relief for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. The reliever gave up four hits and one run while, striking out three and walking none. Josie Phillippe took the loss for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. The starter went one inning, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out one and walking none. Karsen Niccum stepped in the circle first for Manchester Varsity Squires. The hurler gave up three hits and zero runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking five. Ault and Jillian Phillippe each collected two hits for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Ault went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Bluffton Varsity Tigers worked the count all day, accumulating five walks. Jarrett provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Manchester Varsity Squires with two runs batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Ava Sautter, Izzy Renz, and Egolf each collected two hits for Manchester Varsity Squires. Egolf stole two bases. Manchester Varsity Squires were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Sautter made the most plays with eight.
