Both teams were strong in the circle on Saturday, but Bluffton Varsity Tigers defeated New Haven Varsity Bulldogs 3-1. Phillippe started the game for Bluffton Varsity Tigers and recorded 15 outs. New Haven Varsity Bulldogs got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run. Craig homered to center field on an 0-2 count, which helped Bluffton Varsity Tigers tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. Bluffton Varsity Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the second. Lemler singled, scoring two runs, to give Bluffton Varsity Tigers the leg up, 3-1. Phillippe earned the win for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. The pitcher allowed two hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking two. Vincenski took the loss for New Haven Varsity Bulldogs. The right-handed pitcher went four innings, surrendering three runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out eight and walking none. Lemler led Bluffton Varsity Tigers with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The first baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Lemler, Craig, and Phillippe each collected one hit for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Johnson and Vincenski were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for New Haven Varsity Bulldogs while hitting back-to-back. Bluffton Varsity Tigers were triumphant over New Haven Varsity Bulldogs 5-1 on Saturday. A double by Vincenski put New Haven Varsity Bulldogs on the board in the top of the second. Bluffton Varsity Tigers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 5-1. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two. Ault earned the win for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and one run over five innings, striking out five and walking two. Vincenski took the loss for New Haven Varsity Bulldogs. The pitcher went four innings, giving up five runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out five and walking one. Ault provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Bluffton Varsity Tigers with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day. Smith, Ault, Ault, and Kauffman each collected one hit for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Bluffton Varsity Tigers didn't commit a single error in the field. Lemler had the most chances in the field with eight. Vincenski went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
