Bluffton Junior Varsity Tigers bested Heritage 6-5 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the third when Madeleine Morgan singled, scoring one run. Josie Phillippe, Macy Lemler, and Kiah Craig at the bottom of Bluffton Junior Varsity Tigers's lineup combined for four of the team's six hits in their victory. They scored four runs and drove in four. Bluffton Junior Varsity Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Aria Westlund doubled down the right field line, and Macy Lemler singled down the right field line, each scoring one run. #6 doubled down the right field line, which helped Heritage tie the game at two in the top of the second. A solo home run to center field by Josie Phillippe gave Bluffton Junior Varsity Tigers the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the second. In the top of the third inning, Heritage went back into the lead after #15 singled to the right side of the infield, Heritage scored on a passed ball, and #7 grounded out, each scoring one run. Bluffton Junior Varsity Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Kiah Craig tripled down the left field line, Josie Phillippe singled to the left side of the infield, and Madeleine Morgan singled to center field, each scoring one run. Kiah Craig earned the win for Bluffton Junior Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and five runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking one. #6 took the loss for Heritage. The hurler went three innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on six hits, striking out none and walking two. Josie Phillippe led Bluffton Junior Varsity Tigers with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The infielder went 2-for-2 on the day. #6, the number nine hitter for Heritage, led the way with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-1 on the day. #23 led Heritage with two hits in two at bats from the leadoff position. Bluffton Junior Varsity Tigers will travel to Manchester Junior Varsity Squires for their next game on Tuesday.
