Kiah Craig collected three hits in four at bats, but Bluffton Varsity Tigers lost to Heritage Varsity Patriots 12-10 on Tuesday. Craig hit a home run to left field in the seventh inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning. Despite the loss, Bluffton Varsity Tigers did collect 14 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Heritage Varsity Patriots had 11 hits on the way to victory. Bluffton Varsity Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Josie Phillippe doubled, scoring two runs, and Jillian Phillippe singled, scoring one run. Heritage Varsity Patriots tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a sacrifice fly by Isabella Myers, a single by Hadlee Shipp, and a ground out by Calleigh Hirschy. Heritage Varsity Patriots made the score 7-3 in the top of the fourth after an error scored one run, an error scored two runs, and Adalina Bacon singled, scoring one run. Bluffton Varsity Tigers made the score 7-5 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Kierstynn Reed grounded out, scoring one run, and Phillippe hit a solo home run to left field. Bluffton Varsity Tigers scored five runs on six hits in the bottom of the seventh inning. Craig homered to left field, scoring three runs, and Kenley Smith doubled, scoring two runs. Shipp earned the win for Heritage Varsity Patriots. The starter surrendered 14 hits and 10 runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. Kamryn Ault took the loss for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. The hurler went one inning, surrendering three runs on four hits, striking out none and walking none. Phillippe opened the game for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and nine runs (two earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out two and walking four. Bluffton Varsity Tigers piled up 14 hits in the game. Ault and Craig each collected three hits for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Phillippe and Craig were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Reed and Phillippe each collected multiple hits for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Heritage Varsity Patriots accumulated 11 hits in the game. Bacon, Shipp, Sydney Martin, and Myers each collected two hits for Heritage Varsity Patriots. Bacon and Shipp each drove in three runs for Heritage Varsity Patriots. Heritage Varsity Patriots were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Lynneah Whitacre made the most plays with six.
