Phillippe was dominant in the circle, as the hurler rang up 11 strikeouts in Bluffton Varsity Tigers's 14-1 victory over Adams Central Varsity Jets on Monday. Phillippe surrendered one hit and one run over five innings while walking one. Bluffton Varsity Tigers scored eight runs in the first inning on the way to victory. Craig doubled, scoring one run, Phillippe singled, scoring one run, Phillippe singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Ault homered to center field, scoring three runs. A single by Reed extended the Bluffton Varsity Tigers lead to 9-1 in the top of the third inning. Jordan took the loss for Adams Central Varsity Jets. The starting pitcher went five innings, allowing 14 runs (10 earned) on 16 hits, striking out none and walking two. Bluffton Varsity Tigers collected 16 hits in the game. Craig and Phillippe each collected three hits for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Ault and Phillippe each drove in three runs for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Phillippe and Reed each collected multiple hits for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Bluffton Varsity Tigers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Reed had the most chances in the field with nine. Isch went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Adams Central Varsity Jets in hits.
