Kiah Craig drove in five runs on two hits to lead Bluffton Varsity Tigers past Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Varsity Knights 14-11 on Friday. Craig hit a home run to right field in the third inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the sixth inning, scoring one. Bluffton Varsity Tigers collected 12 hits and Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Varsity Knights had seven in the high-scoring affair. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Varsity Knights got on the board in the top of the first inning after Julia Spoltman hit a solo home run to left field, Baylee Ulrick singled, scoring one run, an error scored three runs, Gia Allen singled, scoring one run, Ali Hoffman singled, scoring one run, Ulrick drew a walk, scoring one run, and Betty Brough doubled, scoring two runs. Bluffton Varsity Tigers made the score 10-7 in the bottom of the third inning when an error scored one run, and Craig homered to right field, scoring three runs. Bluffton Varsity Tigers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 14-11. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Maddie Narvaez on an 0-2 count that drove in two. Narvaez earned the win for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. The hurler gave up three hits and one run (zero earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Alyssa Taylor took the loss for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Varsity Knights. The hurler went two innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on six hits, striking out three and walking three. Josie Phillippe stepped in the circle first for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. The starter allowed four hits and 10 runs (four earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out two and walking six. Ulrick started the game for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Varsity Knights. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and seven runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking one. Bluffton Varsity Tigers accumulated 12 hits in the game. Kamryn Ault, Craig, Krista Blair, and Jillian Phillippe each collected two hits for Bluffton Varsity Tigers. Taylor, the number seven hitter for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Varsity Knights, led the way with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Ulrick, Taylor, Brough, Allen, Hoffman, Spoltman, and Cameial Mays each collected one hit for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Varsity Knights. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Varsity Knights had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Bella Petras and Spoltman led the team with two walks each. Mays stole two bases. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Varsity Knights ran wild on the base paths, piling up five stolen bases for the game.
