The girls had a strong showing at sectional prelims, representing our team in all 12 events on Saturday across both finals and consolation races. From the first event to the last, the team competed with focus, energy, and determination. Several swimmers earned spots in Saturday’s finals, while others moved on in the consolation finals, showcasing the depth and balance of this group. Across the board, the girls rose to the moment—many dropping time and putting together some of their best swims of the season. Equally important were the performances from athletes who may not have advanced but made major time drops and showed tremendous growth. Those swims were a direct reflection of their hard work, commitment, and resilience throughout the season. Every race contributed to the team’s success and momentum. Highlights from the evening included: The 200 Medley Relay team of Tess Frauhiger, Kierstynn Reed, Adelyn Atkins, and Anna Zurcher had an outstanding swim, dropping three seconds and earning the 4th seed heading into Saturday. In the 200 Freestyle, Adelyn Atkins qualified for finals as the 6th seed, while Kierstynn Reed will compete in the consolation as the 13th seed. Bluffton will be represented in the 200 IM by both Anna Zurcher and Audrey McMillian, who each qualified for the consolation heat. The Tigers will have a strong presence in the 50 Yard Freestyle, with Tess Frauhiger and Adalynn Fiechter both earning spots in the championship heat. In the 100 Yard Butterfly, Kierstynn Reed is seeded 12th and Anna Zurcher is seeded 13th, with both advancing to Saturday’s competition. Chloe Lesh will represent Bluffton in the 100 Yard Freestyle on Saturday after a solid preliminary swim. Adelyn Atkins enters Saturday’s finals seeded 3rd in the 500 Yard Freestyle. Eden Gerber and Emily Hansen also had standout performances in this event, each posting significant time drops and earning season-best times. The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Frauhiger, Reed, Atkins, and Fiechter is seeded 4th heading into finals. In the 100 Yard Backstroke, Tess Frauhiger qualified for finals as the 6th seed, while Chloe Lesh will compete in the consolation final as the 13th seed. Addison Smith will represent Bluffton in the 100 Yard Breaststroke on Saturday after qualifying through prelims. Closing out the night, the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay of Zurcher, Linderwell, Lesh and Hansen earned the 6th seed and will compete in the championship final on Saturday.
